For the challenge, I've attempted to create a detailed painting in batik - not always an easy thing. It's down on paper, covered with wax and ready for the next step - the scariest of all! In the process you wad the painting up into a ball. Yes, after all that work. I'll do that step next - very carefully. From here on - you can't see what you're getting until you remove the wax. A little like doing it with a blindfold. Fun, but a little unnerving after the hours that have gone into the painting!
The tjanting tool did accomplish some good things - and then some surprises too. It will take a great deal of practice to "master" it - if ever. Batik is about a lot of surprises - why I love it.
