Starting my sketches

I've started with "real" sketches. My ideas are coming together. Finally have a firm idea that still needs some tweaking, but it's coming along. I'm now ready to experiment with a few batik techniques to see if I can make my ideas work with batik. I'm trying wax with white acrylic ink, dying my wax so its more visible. Lots of things to try before I can get serious about the end result. Maybe I'll do it in 2 different techniques? ? I think it will be rectangular, but haven't fully decided on a size. I have a lot to get into the painting! Hope it's not too much. This is fun!

Dyeing the wax to make it more visible? I've never done batik, but I thought the wax was used as a resist to the dye, and it's later peeled off, leaving uncolored areas. Are you leaving the wax on and brightening it with the white acrylic?
