My batik is 3/4 complete. The scary parts are mostly done; I just need to detail a few things. The finished project, matted and framed will be 20 x 24. I ordered a frame.
I still have a second idea in the planning stages. Input from friends tell me to stick with the first idea. Of course they are looking at a nearly complete, colorful image versus a very rough pencil and marker sketch - no color. So, I'll keep on and determine if I want to paint it or not!
In the meantime, I've started some thoughts on the words. It's a big question for me as to how much to put in actual words and how much to let the painting "speak for itself." Then I question myself, is the painting sending a message or not? This has been a fun challenge. Definitely something different for me. I would never have created such a painting, if it hadn't been for the challenge ! Thanks for the opportunity.
I agree! This was a great opportunity to step out of the comfort zone!
Thanks, Margaret. You do beautiful work.
I get them wholesale from Studio Moulding in Carson. I've had a resale license for years because of the various types of art I've done.
Joyce (or anyone else), may I ask where you order your frames from?
I have similar feelings - that "never would I have done this"! But my painting is finished and I learned so much! Lots of trial and error, but finally figuring out how to push beyond what I thought I could do with a watercolor/acrylic/gouache was worth the days of work.
